A new Jimmy Stewart biopic and a nationwide give-back plan
This fall KJ Apa, best known for Riverdale, steps into the role of Hollywood icon Jimmy Stewart in Jimmy, a biographical drama that follows Stewart’s military service in World War II and his triumphant return to Hollywood. Alongside the film’s theatrical rollout, the producing studio Burns and Co has announced a large-scale Give Back campaign that will put one million free tickets into the hands of active-duty military members, veterans, first responders and their families.
The studio also released new production stills featuring Apa and co-stars Rob Riggle and Kara Killmer, underscoring the film’s cast and the campaign’s celebratory, community-focused tone. Jimmy opens in theaters on November 6, 2026.
The Give Back campaign: how it will work
Burns and Co says the one-million-ticket pledge is intended as a tangible way to honor public service and sacrifice. Donations and ticket distributions will be coordinated through VetTix.org, a platform that connects supporters with organizations that provide event tickets to military and first-responder communities.
The campaign’s first public contribution came from Hien Papaian, founder of Papaian Studios, who donated 10,000 tickets in memory of her late husband, Haig Papaian Jr. In a statement she explained why she chose to support the film’s outreach: “Beyond the Hollywood glamour and the trials of war, what resonated most was its message of kindness – something our world desperately needs right now. Jimmy reminds us to look beyond our own struggles, to embrace the suffering of others, and to choose grace.”

The story frames Stewart’s career alongside his wartime service, emphasizing how those experiences shaped his public image and personal convictions.
